About Me

I am a trained architect. Architecture school taught me how story telling plays a key role in all aspects of our lived experience. The concept behind every building is a story. Through stories, we relate to each other, we make sense of our past and we define a foreseeable future. My visual arts education also helped hone my critical thinking skills. Around this time, I also met my inner critic.

After college, on what I now consider a life-changing Saturday morning, my friend brought me to a yoga class. Yoga is the process of slowing down a busy mind. Just like buildings, I learned that bodies have stories. How we live and what we endure is imprinted on us, on our appearance, in our movements. Similarly, the stories we tell about ourselves define our mindset, our outlook, and our perception of reality.

After years of practice, I left the field of architecture. I taught yoga full time in studio settings and for private clients for ten years. I honed my teaching over this time to reflect the truth of my own practice. I witnessed the shift in the mindset of my students and clients. Distress and reactivity gave way to compassion and acceptance. To shift our story is to change our life.

I pursued my second Master’s degree in Social work from Simmons University in Boston, MA to share what I continue to learn in my own personal work. I want to share this with you! I’m licensed in both Colorado and Massachusetts.
